Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 24, 2026
1. Who we are
Rina is an AI-powered learning platform that lets you take courses from a shared library and generate personalized courses and study material. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Rina (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to the Rina website and apps. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Your email address and an encrypted password when you create an account. Authentication is handled by our infrastructure provider (Supabase).
- Profile information. Optional details you add, such as a display name, occupation, short bio, and avatar image.
- Learning content and activity. The courses you create or take, the prompts and preferences you provide to generate courses, your tutor conversations, quiz answers, and learning progress.
- Payment information. If you subscribe to Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive limited billing details (such as subscription status and the last four digits or card brand from Stripe); we do not receive or store your full card number.
- Communications. If you choose to receive text reminders, your phone number. Messages you send us through the contact form, along with your email.
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as log data, approximate request metadata, and cookies needed to keep you signed in and operate the Service.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To generate personalized courses and tutor responses based on the prompts, preferences, and profile details you provide.
- To process subscriptions and manage billing.
- To send you account, security, and (if enabled) reminder messages.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
4. AI processing
Rina uses third-party AI model providers to generate course content and power the tutor. When you generate a course or chat with the tutor, the prompts and relevant context you provide are sent to these providers to produce a response. We do not use these interactions to train our own models, and we ask our AI providers not to use your content to train their models where that option is available.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Service, and only as needed to perform their functions:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
- AI model providers — to generate course content and tutor responses.
- Stripe — to process subscription payments.
- Twilio — to deliver text reminders, if you enable them.
- Resend — to deliver transactional and support email.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access and update. You can view and edit your profile details in Settings.
- Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and associated content from Settings.
- Communication preferences. You can turn text reminders on or off in Settings.
- Subscription. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal in Settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data. Contact us to exercise them.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International users
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, which may have different data-protection laws. By using the Service you consent to this transfer and processing.
10. Children's privacy
Rina is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
12. Contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your information, reach us through the contact option in the footer or at support@rinaapp.ai.
